KDDI Japan Implements Ericsson's LTE RAN and EPC

The leading Japanese operator KDDI has selected Ericsson as one of the prime vendors to deploy its LTE system and Evolved Packet Core network for the first time. Ericsson will provide system integration and implementation services for radio access network which is based on LTE FDD.  Ericsson, according to a statement, serves approximately 50 percent of the world's LTE smartphone traffic, involving more than 180 LTE RAN and Evolved Packet Core networks that have been delivered worldwide, of which more than 110 have gone live commercially.
