Amdocs unveiled  two new network based solutions, the Small Cell and Amdocs Smart Net as well as its Policy and Charging Control (PCC) Ecosystem Partner Program at the recent Wi-fi Global Congress. The PCC Ecosystem partner program,  aimed at fast tracking new data-monetization, brings together vendors in the policy, charging, inline monetization, deep packet inspection (DPI), optimization and analytics to be part of Amdocs Experience Center and aims at facilitating service providers in creating new solutions and perform real-life demonstrations. The new partership ecosystem is expected to spur innovation and incubation of new ideas and address the lack of integration in the service providers' network control domain.

The Small Cell Solution, which is aimed to speed the roll-out and deployment of small cell technology and the Amdocs Smart Net Solution, an intelligent Wi-Fi offload solution, are both designed to address service providers' need for a pre-integrated network based solution. Amdocs says that the small cell solution can significantly reduce the time, network design and costs for rollouts, thus enabling service providers to improve the monthly deployments of small cells. Meanwhile, the Amdocs Smart Net Solution gives service providers access to network performance data from the user's perspective and can increase the average revenue per user (ARPU) by driving offload and onload decisions based on subscriber value, data plans and policy. The Smart Net intelligent Wi-Fi offload capabilities which are supported by automatic session monitoring and based on customer's personalized profile and value features enables service providers to deliver a seamless customer experience across networks, maximize revenues and alleviate network congestion.

  • Rebecca Prudhomme, vice president of product and solutions marketing at Amdocs"Today's announcement, combined with the introduction of Amdocs Charging Smart Start solution earlier this year, moves Amdocs appreciably closer to the network software domain - expanding our customer experience portfolio to manage customer experience across both networks and IT, enabling service providers deploying advanced networks to increase efficiencies and revenues," said Rebecca Prudhomme, vice president of product and solutions marketing at Amdocs. "These solutions and our new partner program reinforce Amdocs' unique ability to help service providers deliver a truly differentiated and integrated customer experience from any point of interaction down to the network, successfully bridging IT and network requirements."
"Amdocs' move towards the network software domain is part of a clear industry trend," said Shagun Bali, analyst with Ovum. "Knowing what's happening at the network level provides granular data about the customer - who they are, where they are, what they're doing - this information is critical for service providers to deliver the kinds of personalized services their customers expect."  Read More 'Amdocs Announces New Network-Based Solutions and Partner Program'
