The largest independent Wi-Fi network operator in Brazil, Linktel, who has more than 2,300 Hotspots throughout the country has deployed the Aptilo Service Management Platform™ (SMP) from Aptilo Networks that will enable Linktel to expand its venue footprint which now covers 24 malls, 19 airports and a large number of beaches, restaurants, hotels, coffee shops and other outdoor areas and add more capacity to its network. With Aptilo, Linktel can easily offer customers innovative services such as hierarchical accounts (e.g., family plans that can connect several devices to one Linktel HotSpot account). Linktel can also offer different levels of services – for example, free Wi-Fi access on beaches, tiered plans in airports, time-limited access in malls etc. – with customized portals for each venue. Aptilo’s platform manages the service and user access, and applies billing and charging solutions.
“With Aptilo’s proven service provider Wi-Fi solution and their unique B2B support we are confident that our Wi-Fi hotspot network can support our continued growth,” said Jonas Trunk, President, Linktel Corporate. “Linktel is committed to providing customers with the very best quality of service. The move to the Aptilo Service Management Platform is key to that commitment.”
“Linktel’s Wi-Fi network is an important piece of infrastructure for Brazil. We are thrilled to be working with them in delivering a truly carrier-class wireless experience to customers,” said Paul Mikkelsen, COO, Aptilo Networks.
