If you are an iPhone fan who always (or at times) experiences unsatisfactory video streaming either due to stalling, buffering, lagging, stuttering or freezing... , no more says Opera with its latest release of Opera Mini 9 for iOS. The mobile browser company promises faster loading times and data savings for mobile videos on iOS devices when the user turns on the video optimization feature in the Opera Turbo mode. Using the Rocket Optimizer engine from Opera’s Skyfire division, Opera said that the enhanced version brings down buffering time by reducing the size of video data and leads to savings on users' data bills.
According to a study undertaken by Opera, of all videos played in the United States, 40.8% go through stalling across 2G, 3G and LTE networks while in India, the figure goes up to 73.3%. On average, 49.6% or more consumers in each market said they experienced mobile video problems "often" or "all the time", said the study.
The new Opera Mini 9 also sports extra options for editing Speed Dial website shortcuts, a revamped data-savings gauge and support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

This is the first time video optimization has been integrated into a web browser, so your browser can now take pride of place as your favorite video app. Video snags are a small problem, but an annoying one — a pothole on the internet highway. And Opera fixed it.
