Indonesia's largest mobile service provider Telkomsel announced its plans to build approximately 23,000 4G LTE base stations this year across the country.
The Operator said that the new base stations built with latest technologies can increase the capacity and speed of network access up to 3 times of its regular 4G LTE base stations. This includes NB-IoT technology, a trial of VoLTE access technology, as well as the use of Carrier Agregation that further improves customer experience.
Telkomsel is also very aggressive in implementing the 4G LTE technology in the 900Mhz frequency to expand the range and strengthen the signal especially for in-home or in-building customers. With this implementation, Telkomsel claims that it will now expand the range of 4G services to more than 95% of the population area in all cities/districts in Indonesia.
