PacketZoom, a startup that helps app developers speed up and optimize app delivery on mobile devices announced a partnership with Amazon CloudFront to include CloudFront to offer an end to end Mobile CDN solution.
Bundled with PacketZoom’s Mobile Expresslane service, the solution helps mobile app developers with their network performance needs. The Company claims that its Mobile Expresslane technology speeds up mobile apps by up to 3x and rescues up to 90% of network disconnects for mobile app publishers including Glu, Sephora, Photofy, Upwork and others.
PacketZoom improves the user experience on mobile apps by eliminating performance roadblocks in the mobile last mile. Its mobile platform offers a complete, end-to-end product suite for Mobile App Performance Management & Optimization (APMO).

In an exclusive email interview with The Fast Mode, Shlomi Gian, CEO of PacketZoom shares how the solution can potentially help mobile operators;
The Fast Mode: How can the end to end Mobile CDN solution help app developers to ensure consistent user experience over congested mobile networks ?
Shlomi: While network congestion exists in public events (also known as the stadium challenge), the more generic challenges of mobile network is latency, packet loss and disconnects resulting from network dead zones and network swapping (WiFi to cellular and vise versa).
PacketZoom’s protocol was designed to overcome these issues by reducing the number of server round trips (i.e. avoiding slow start), handling packet loss more quickly, and session assurance (i.e. preventing disconnect and session restarts).
