Mobile Video Adverts Market for UK Set to Hit £717 Million - IQPC

The upcoming Mobile Video Summit, to be held in London from 22nd to 24th of September will be discussing the growth of the mobile video market and its implications on businesses and how this will translate into monetization opportunities for a host of players in this space, especially service providers. According to the organizer of the summit, International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC), a leading provider of seminars and conferences, the market for video adverts on mobile in UK alone is set to hit £717 million (approximately USD1.196 billion) and telecom networks must have the capabilities of transferring up to 11 exabytes of data per month by 2018.

As service providers make foray into digital services as a strategic measure to counter the loss of revenue from increased commoditization of their services and competition from Over-the-Top players, digital services especially mobile commerce is expected to unleash newer revenue opportunities for the service providers.Central to service providers' strategies in the mobile commerce segment is the ability to tap on the current demand for mobile video to push mobile advertisements to subscribers and also create other spin-off services such as sponsored content offers.

In the run-up to the event, IQPC shares their infographic: Runaway Growth of Mobile Video - Beyond 2014 which is available at the event website. Some key highlights from the infographic include 50% of all online video plays by 2016 will be on mobile, two-thirds of all mobile traffic will be video by 2017 and global video internet advertising revenue will rise at a 23.8% CAGR from now to 2018.
