Three is getting its 4G service ready for roll-out. Based on their recent blog post, subscribers will start having access to their 4G network in London, Birmingham and Manchester starting this December with more cities following suit in 2014. According to the post, by 2015, 98% of the
population will have access to this high-speed internet connection which enables susbcribers to browse and download large volumes of data at a fraction of the time it used to take on 3G and other networks. With smartphones, phablets and tablets proliferating the market and new devices such as smartwatches unveiled recently, a lot of new subscribers are expected to take up the 4G packages, especially on offers such as Three's where no extra charges are imposed for upgrades and no changes are made on tariffs.
Every Three customer with a 4G Ready device will get a 4G upgrade at no extra cost. It’ll be easy to switch over too, all that’s required is a simple software update. You won’t even need to go in to a store. There’ll be no new contract to sign, no new SIM and no tariff change. We really want this transition to be as easy as possible for our customers. Not only that, but our famous All You Can Eat data offering will still be available on 4G. So you’ll be able to share even more, ponies, pugs and kittens. Which can only be a good thing, right?
