Job Description

Provide technical and engineering guidance to the account team, customer and business unit on technology trends and competitive threats, both at a technical and business level.   Provide technical AT&T support. Support AT&T Labs arm of AT& T. Provide specific solutions/technology/product consulting, technical and sales support for accounts in assigned territory.       

 

Mobile Wireless technical competency with Cisco, Openet, Tekelec or Broadhop product and service set, competitive knowledge, familiarity with Cisco offerings and internal Business Unit structure, platform knowledge, and technical skill in IP (Internet Protocol), MPLS (Multi-protocol label Switching), Policy (PCRF), Diameter Routing Agent (DRA), 3GPP R9-R11 standards, Enhanced Packet Core per 3GPP SAEGW standards and spec as well as post-sales capabilities.  Detailed knowledge of call flows, interactions of the PCRF, DRA and SAEGW desired.  The RE will drive customer mindshare and help bring PCRF and DRA solutions to market through continuous education, lab enablement, feature tracking and commitment through the Business Unit.

 

Skills 

Three (3) years

 

- Working knowledge of PCRF or DRA and 3GPP standards related to PCRF or DRA platform, i.e. Gx, Sy, Sp interface 

- IR.94 Standard

- Video and PCRF treatment expertise per existing projects.  Nice to have.

- Gx Interface

- Expertise in interface to EPC gateway

- Diameter and AAA

- Signaling expertise needed per existing infrastructure and call flows

- EPC Knowledge (3G, 4G, GGSN, SAEGW)

- EPC is heart of Mobility and PCRF interacts with this platform and it’s interfaces

- Competitive Knowledge

- Leverage to better position Cisco and partner solutions

- OCS – Online Charging System

- Expertise in interactions between network elements including the OCS

- QoS

- Mastery in QoS capabilities per monetization, rules, PCRF capabilities.

 

Special Skills Prior to Cisco employment:

Explanation of why it is minimally required to perform the job:

-RAN (Radio Access Network)    

-Mobility Wireless essential to the role and understanding of handset into Gateway and PCRF call flows  

-Policy (PCRF)* Policy Control and Routing Function per 3GPP specification

-Candidate is lead RE covering Cisco PCRF and RE within AT&T’s lab environment, it’s evolution, detailed capabilities  

-Enhanced Packet Core per 3GPP SAEGW standards    

-Candidate is lead SE covering Cisco PCRF and it’s biggest interface downstream is the SAEGW platform 

-IP (Internet Protocol)   

-Not only Layer 3 (IP) but knowledge of Layer 4-7 of the OSI model due to nature of call flows and platform interactions 

-Competitive Knowledge       

-Understanding of competitive capabilities, behaviors, limitations and benefits so as to better position Cisco’s solution 

-Communication and Collaboration

-Not required but strongly recommended due to interaction between Advanced Services personell, account team systems engineers and the customer.
