Rogers yesterday announced the one-year anniversary of the Rogers and Shaw merger.

The company states "As two Canadian companies, we’ve proudly come together to invest in our economy and networks, and deliver more global innovation and more affordable services for Western Canadians."

In the last year, the company has:

  • Expanded and enhanced 5G to over 150 communities, with new coverage spanning 20,000 square kilometres.  Rogers has also expanded high speed internet to reach 90,000 more homes and seamlessly upgraded Shaw Mobile customers to the Rogers 5G network.
  • Made their services more accessible to low-income Canadians by expanding their Connected for Success internet program to 1.5 million Canadians across the West. And introduced a new national Connected for Success wireless program with a no-cost 5G phone available to 2.5 million Canadians, the first of its kind in Canada.
  • Increased competition and choice by introducing bundled internet and mobile phone plans in the West. In the past year alone, wireless prices in Canada have come down 26% while other goods and services have gone up with inflation.
  • Continued to invest in new innovations in global technology including satellite-to-mobile and wildfire detection technology. Rogers is using their national network and global technology partnerships to connect every corner of the country and help combat climate change-related events.
  • Continued to invest in digital infrastructure and its communities. These investments contributed billions in GDP across the West and helped create new jobs. Together with Shaw, Rogers also invested over $100 million in Canadian charities, continuing a proud legacy.
