In the run-up to DTW23 - Ignite, Ariana Lynn, Principal Analyst at The Fast Mode spoke to Dominic Smith, Marketing Director at Cerillion in a brief interview on the company's participation at the event, as well as Dominic's thoughts on open digital architectures.

Ariana: What are you looking forward to most at the event? Does Cerillion have any exciting activities planned?

Dominic: DTW23 promises to be another great event, primarily due to its dedicated focus on the BSS/OSS sector. Though a much smaller show than MWC Barcelona, this actually works to our advantage; we can expect a high level of quality both in terms of the delegates attending and the content featured in the conference programme, making it the perfect platform to connect with industry leaders and decision makers. Furthermore, the timing of this event aligns perfectly with our six-monthly product release cycles. This means that we have a golden opportunity to showcase our latest developments, set to launch in our upcoming October release.

We have a busy line-up of pre-arranged meetings and demonstrations with customers, prospects and partners; there’s already been a great deal of interest surrounding our smart city solution, Cerillion Metro, and we are leading the way in the smart city BSS/OSS market with our experience delivering to ACUD in Egypt.

Lastly, AI is sure to be one of the hottest topics of discussion at the show, and this event provides the perfect canvas to demonstrate how emerging AI solutions seamlessly integrate with our BSS/OSS suite, promising enhanced efficiency and innovation for our customers.

Ariana: Which of the five tracks at DTW23 (AI at scale, cloud native software, future networks, platforms and partners, and Techco DNA) will Cerillion be participating in?

Dominic: Cerillion is in the Techco DNA track, where our Business Development Director, Richard Doughty, is taking part in a very topical panel “Developing a blueprint for future-proof operating model”, discussing industry changes such as the separation of NetCos from ServCos. This has the potential to benefit both businesses and consumers, but it also presents challenges that need to be addressed through regulation and strategic planning.

We’ll be sharing this panel with one of our customers, Norlys, a major local telecoms and energy provider in Denmark. With Norlys, we’re right at the leading edge of fostering innovation in telco business models, with a proven solution, and record of success with this pioneering model.

We’re excited to be able to share some of this experience with our customers via the panel alongside other well-known operators Vodafone Oman and Colt.

The panel is on Tuesday 19th at 16:00 and is not to be missed!

Ariana: What are your thoughts on open digital architectures and what role do they play in supporting autonomous networks?

Dominic: We’re very optimistic about the future of open digital architectures, particularly the emphasis on Open APIs, and believe they are driving a profound shift in the telecommunications landscape.

In fact, we're not just bystanders in this movement; we’re active supporters and signatories of the ODA and Open API manifestos, and are gold-certified for TM Forum Open APIs and currently the number one ranked vendor for real-world certifications. This recognition underscores our deep commitment to the principles of ODA and Open APIs, and positions us as industry leaders, setting the standard for others to follow.

We are fully invested in building our solutions around the Open APIs, ensuring that our offerings are at the forefront of this technological revolution. And they aren’t just principles anymore – we’re witnessing them being put into practice, ushering in a step change in the flexibility and ease of integration within the telecommunications landscape.

We're excited about the prospect of engaging with our peers and industry professionals and discussing the challenges they face, introducing them to the transformative power of our APIs and smart city solutions. It's a platform for meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of innovative ideas.

We're eagerly anticipating the show, where we can share our insights, and showcase how Open APIs are shaping the future of autonomous networks and smart city solutions.

For nearly 30 years Dominic has been at the leading edge of the BSS/OSS industry, involved in the development, delivery and support of innovative billing and revenue management solutions, as well as contributing to the evolution of industry standards in key groups including the TM Forum and GSMA.
