Altair Semiconductor, a leading provider of LTE chipsets,Tuesday announced that its FourGee-3800/6300  Category 4 (CAT-4) Chipset has been selected by Intelliport Solutions, a leading provider of M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication solutions, to be implemented in Intelliport’s new M2M gateway. This collaboration will serve to improve the M2M capabilities of the already popular line of 450MHz gateways for connecting Intelliport’s outdoor video surveillance cameras.

With the addition of Altair’s chipset, they can now handle two simultaneous video streams for each camera – one for saving on the device’s built-in storage, the other for real-time transfer on the LTE network. This allows users to receive real-time alerts from the intelligent cameras regarding movement, sabotage, or line crossing.

Peter Batorfi, CEO of Intelliport
Intelliport is at the forefront of M2M communication solutions. To meet the demands of this this evolving market, a low cost and highly reliable solution with round-the-clock connectivity is paramount. With a proven record for reliability and performance, Altair’s chipset was the ideal choice to provide LTE connectivity in our new gateway.

Eran Eshed, Co-Founder and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Altair Semiconductor
We are pleased that Intelliport has selected Altair’s chipset to connect its new M2M offering. This is Altair’s latest foray into the M2M and IoT market and underscores that LTE will prove significant in addressing the needs of Machine-to-Machine connectivity.
