Digicel Group, a leading global communications provider with operations in 33 markets in the Caribbean, Central America and Asia Pacific has selected Verimatrix, a  specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services to protect its Digicel Play high definition digital entertainment service offering.

Verimatrix will be deploying its Video Content Authority System (VCAS™) for DVB, providing the Operator with a cost-effective cardless security solution that saves the Operator from managing the logistics of smart cards while helping to address the complexity of revenue security in today's multi-network world.

According to Verimatrix, the deployment of the VCAS for DVB also involves a number of other key vendors including Ericsson, Kaon Media and Magnaquest who will play integral roles in the deployment. The service will be delivered via a hybrid DVB-S/DVB-T2 network and will be accessible via the Kaon Media VM-9150 STB.

Alan Constant, CTO, Digicel New Media Ventures
Verimatrix gives us the flexibility to seamlessly expand our service offering to multiple screens in the future, while also protecting our current content offering. We chose to deploy VCAS for DVB to protect our Digicel Play service because of the credibility and flexibility of the VCAS system, and its ability to seamlessly integrate with our preferred head end and set top box (STB) providers.

Steve Oetegenn, President, Verimatrix
We are delighted to collaborate with Digicel on this exciting deployment. Our proven cardless security solution will offer them a single security approach to cable/satellite broadcast and hybrid broadcast-IP video services, and allow them to future proof their managed network with OTT extensibility.
