In its annual post-Christmas announcement, Amazon said that it signed up 10 million new members worldwide on its Prime Service, a free shipping program that promises fast delivery on merchandise purchased online. The e-commerce giant said that the festive season saw milions of its existing and new customers making the most of its Christmas sale which offered discounts up to 85% on a wide selection of digital content and merchandise from the 24th of December through year end.
