Magyar Telekom has also started offering unlimited music on its data packages. Just last week, T-Mobile, one of the largest mobile operators in the United States, offered free music streaming service on its high speed 4G LTE data service. Bundling music as part of the tariff plan, either for free or for a subscription is becoming common among leading service providers. Magyar,  the principal provider of telecommunications and infocommunications (ICT) in Hungary, is rolling out data packages that includes unlimited inland talktime and access to Spotify, the popular cloud based music streaming service. Spotify has more than 20 million tracks that can be accessed online and on mobile and is used by more than 24 million users worldwide across 57 markets with more than 6 million paying subscribers.

  • Magyar's music tariff packages are available in 3 types - Music XS, S and M. The access can also be purchased as an add-on option. According to Magyar, the packages are designed to cater for all 3 major categories of music consumers - the ones who want unlimited access, those who listen to music regularly and university and college students who look for cheaper options to music streaming. The details of the packages are as follows:
  • Music M tariff package (HUF 16,690) with e-Pack (the price without e-Pack is HUF 17,290)  includes unlimited intra-network talktime in case of basic tariff numbers and inland SMS traffic, 1 GB data volume to be used even at Telekom’s 4G network and unlimited Spotify Premium access, as well as e-Pack* 

  • Music S tariff package (HUF 9,390) with e-Pack (or HUF 9,990 without e-Pack) includes 160 minutes inland talktime in case of basic tariff numbers and unlimited SMS, as well as 1GB data volume usable also on 4G network and 2 GB inland data dedicated for Spotify.

  • XS package - HUF 1,590 monthly (only for is available for university and college students only)

  • Music Option - 500 MB data volume dedicated to Spotify
