Carrier Billing seems to be gathering a stronger momentum this week. Net-mobile AG(net-m), an international full-service provider of mobile value added services and payment solutions, announced two days ago that Telefonica O2 UK, the commercial brand of Telefónica UK Limited, will be working with their unique payment architecture to offer Telefonica O2's subscribers the option to pay for their purchases on Google Play store using their mobile accounts.
Just earlier this week, Etisalat, UAE's leading telecommunications operator, become the first Operator in the Middle East to offer the same facility for its mobile subscribers. According to net-m, Telefonica O2 UK, one of the largest European mobile network operator with over 23 million customers will be deploying their mobile payment solution which offers a flexible and cost-effective integration of existing pay-interfaces of mobile network operators with Google's Play Store, where subscribers can downloads hundreds of apps and pay for them using their mobile accounts.
In its statement, net-m said that not only does the solution allow significant simplification when connecting different payment interfaces, it also guarantees operators a stringent adherence to various regulatory and technical requirements during operational use. net-m is already operating the technical and operational interface between Google and network operators in ten other countries, offering more than a 100 million mobile customers worldwide the facility that enables them to purchase digital goods such as apps, books, games, movies and music from Google Play store with an Android smartphone and manage their bills using a single consolidated account. Apart from serving mobile telecommunication providers, net-m also offers its solution for media companies, online shopping portals, brand name companies and television networks which includes complete white labelling such as direct carrier billing and mobile television services.
