FEATURE STACK

The Feature Stack is a framework for the development of mobile broadband services to facilitate the design of new and innovative features for mobile data products. The framework, which was developed by PCCMB’s Consulting Practice, enables teams tasked with the development of mobile broadband services to assess and realign the existing range of services offered on their mobile broadband plans and map out new and add-on features to support the Operators’ revenue enhancement, subscriber retention and product innovation strategies.

Feature Stack High-Level Design Blueprint

The Feature Stack High-Level Design Blueprint, is a simplified guide that presents the framework in a easy-to-refer format. The Blueprint will enable product managers to streamline the features, services and packages offered on their mobile data plans and identify new layers of services, termed as the 'Feature Layers' which can be added as a group or separately and further customized to suit the overall product strategy. 

The Blueprint covers 13 different Feature Layers, each representing a group of features that can be incorporated into any mobile broadband plan. The 13 Layers are as the following:

Base Layer: Bundling - Combining Data, Voice and Text

Layer Two: Quota-based - Providing Volume Options

Layer Three: Speed-based - Delivering Speed Differentiation

Layer Four: Pay-As-You-Go - Offering Granularity

Layer Five: Time-of-Day - Giving Value for Money

Layer Six: OTT Apps and Digital Services - Bringing Best Content Choices

Layer Seven: Content Filters and Content Control

Layer Eight: Shared Plans - Adding Group Deals for Family and Friends

Layer Nine: WiFi - Granting Offloading Options

Layer Ten: Loyalty Programs - Delivering Value for Brand Loyalty

Layer Eleven: Event-Based - Adding Excitement and Flavors

Layer Twelve: Reward Programs - Rewarding Top Users

Layer Thirteen: Convergence of Mobile, Wireline and Wireless - Delivering Data End-to-End
