Openet Emerges as Market Leader for Policy Management for 2nd Consecutive Year

Openet was named as the top policy management vendor for the 2nd consecutive year, followed by Oracle/Tekelec and Huawei in the recent survey released by the market research firm, Infonetics Research. The 2013 Policy Management Strategies and Vendor Leadership: Global Service Provider Survey provides market information and interesting insights on various aspects relating to the policy management market. The report highlights bandwidth management functions as the primary reason for policy management deployments, followed by service creation and revenue generation. Usage-based services, advanced subscriber control, and bandwidth on demand score as the most preferred use-cases with VoIP and M2M gaining momentum in this segment. Operators also cited flexibility constraints as the top reason for replacing their existing policy management systems.  The report also points out the continuing role of marketing teams within service providers as important decision makers in policy management purchases.
