GENBAND inks partnership with Nokia Networks enabling Nokia Networks to offer GENBAND´s QUANTiX evolved Packet Data Gateway (ePDG) as part of its mobile broadband portfolio and voice evolution solutions such as Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi). The new integrated mobile solution is intended to allow operators to offer consumers cost-effective voice roaming and texting capabilities between different networks including operator over-the-top (OTT) networks - VoWiFi and Voice over LTE(VoLTE).

The GENBAND ePDG, a key component of its Wireless Access Gateway solution will be integrated into Nokia’s Liquid Core portfolio to support multimedia voice, data and video sessions and 'anywhere/any-device services'.

According to Genband, the ePDG provides seamless network hand-offs and enhanced mobility experiences for voice and data applications as consumers roam between networks, enabling VoWiFi and VoLTE interworking.
