Mozilla and Intex Technologies partner to bring extremely low-cost, low-end smartphones for the Indian market. Intex, the Indian handset maker, unveiled on Monday the Cloud FX, the first Firefox OS smartphone in India that is priced at Rs.1999, yes, just USD33 at the current exchange rate. Firefox OS is a HTML 5 open-source based operating system developed by Mozilla.

The 3.5" screen device which is made available exclusively on Snapdeal.com, India's largest e-marketplace, boasts of features such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Dual SIM and comes with an expandable memory of up to 4GB and supports English, Hindi and Tamil languages.

 The device runs on 1GHz processor and comes with 2MP rear camera. This week also saw Firefox OS powered ZTE Open II smartphones being launched in El Salvador via Telefónica, marking Firefox's entry to the central American region.
