Sydney based Mobile Embrace, a mobile payments and mobile marketing company, has signed a global framework agreement with Norway’s Telenor Group to provide direct carrier billing for Telenor Group mobile subscribers.
Mobile Embrace will enable direct carrier billing for mobile-optimized products and services across a range of verticals for Telenor Group, which has mobile operations in 13 markets across the Nordic region, Central and Eastern Europe and in Asia.
According to Mobile Embrace, Telenor will benefit from the DOB as the operator has a significant number of its subscriber base in the emerging markets, where carrier billing is particularly important as credit card penetration is very low.
