EXFO Joins ALU's CloudBand™ Ecosystem Program to Drive NFV Innovation

EXFO Inc, a leading provider of next-generation test, service assurance and end-to-end quality of experience solutions for mobile and fixed network operators and equipment manufacturers in the global telecommunications industry announced last week its participation in Alcatel-Lucent's CloudBand™ Ecosystem Program. Via the participation, EXFO will gain open access to a live and distributed cloud infrastructure using CloudBand 2nd generation NFV management and orchestration.

The CloudBand Ecosystem program, an open community of platform vendors, virtual application vendors, and service providers who are developing Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) was created in 2013 to help foster NFV innovation and share knowledge. Network solution companies like Qosmos and Cellwize have joined the ecosystem earlier this year.

EXFO intends to contribute its expertise in network testing to advance application tests and other test solutions in the simulated cloud environment, and create use cases to demonstrate NFV solutions to service providers.

"I am very happy to welcome EXFO as a new member of our CloudBand™ Ecosystem Program focusing on the new telecom frontier of NFV. I am sure EXFO will bring innovative solutions and expertise in the testing space necessary for this new game changer in the telecom Industry."

Valerie Noto, Director, CloudBand Ecosystem, Alcatel-Lucent

"We are proud to participate and contribute our expertise in developing new and innovative use cases to help service providers test and assure service performance and user quality of experience as they adopt and embrace cloud-based NFV. EXFO is leading the way in virtual test and virtual probe-based service performance monitoring and analytics, and we are excited to be part of the CloudBand™ Ecosystem Program to collectively advance knowledge and technological innovation in our industry."

Vikas Arora, Chief Technology Officer, EXFO
