Opera's Suite of Products to Drive Telenor's 'Internet for All' Initiave

Telenor, a Norwegian global Telecom operator based in Oslo is extending its partnership with Opera Software, adopting more of its products such as Opera Max into its service offering. The ties between the companies will enable Telenor Digital, its digital services arm, to bring products such as Opera Max, the co-branded Opera Mini web browser and Opera Web Pass for roll-out by Telenor subsidiaries globally.

  • The newly launched and popular Opera Max which improves user experience is seen to increase Telenor’s digital portfolio. This is part of Telenor’s “Internet for All” initiative which aims to increase internet penetration globally, a mission that is also spearheaded by other global players, including Opera under the Internet.org program. The Internet.org envisions a world where everyone has affordable access to the Internet.

"It is exciting to see the two leading Norwegian technology companies working together like this. The foundation for this partnership was created with Telenor Group four years ago, refreshed last summer with the Rocket Optimizer agreement, and now has been extended to further expand the reach and scope of our strategic cooperation. The complete package that Telenor has selected provides its operators access to the latest in cloud services and internet innovations, creating a platform for increased online engagement and monetizable digital assets.”

- Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software

“Opera Software has been one of our closest partners since we started our cooperation four years ago. Jointly, we have helped millions of Telenor customers getting affordable access to internet with a good experience. We are now further developing our cooperation to reach more customers with even better experiences.

- Rolv-Erik Spilling, Head of Telenor Digital
