Huawei has launched Mobile Money (MM) solution at the Digital Telco Forum, a Huawei-hosted seminar attended by global operators and TMF, in Nice, France. Utilizing the MM, Communication Service Providers (CSPs) can develope a range of mobile financial services that are compatible with all types of mobile phones.
The MM solution is made up of three major sub-solutions: Mobile banking solution where CSPs can utilize existing business channels and service outlets to provide convenient mobile transfers, access to cash, and domestic and international remittance services; Mobile payment solution where CSPs can create a vast payment network system for customers and businesses, providing convenient remote and near field communication (NFC) payment services; and Mobile market solution where CSPs can provide commodity catalogues, shopping guides, commodity promotion and advertising services.
According to Huawei, the Mobile Money solution was first recognized by the Vodafone Group in November 2012 when it signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Huawei to offer M-PESA services for its 13 subnets. The Romania subnet was the first subnet to officially launch the M-PESA commercially on March 31, 2014.
"Mobile financial services are a blue ocean market. We believe in reliability, high performance, fast integration capabilities, flexible business processing and safe and convenient user access as key factors for CSPs to successfully establish a competitive advantage in this ecosystem. We are confident that our MM solution is an ideal opportunity for us to work with CSPs to create a win-win ecosystem in the digital economy".
